About Bowerbird Field School

Bowerbird Field School is a family-centered science learning community that launched in spring 2026. Our mission is to connect families with nature through outdoor exploration, standards-informed STEAM education, and design thinking.

We are currently in our first phase of development and welcome community feedback as we shape future events, classes, and hands-on learning experiences for children of all ages.

Our Approach

At the heart of our work is a commitment to curiosity, environmental stewardship, and meaningful connection with the natural world. Through authentic, inquiry-based science learning, we create opportunities for children and families to observe, wonder, investigate, and build a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Meet the Founder

Paige Baur is a credentialed math and science teacher with a master's degree in science education from Stanford University. She has built STEAM programs and developed curriculum for students from TK through 8th grade, and began her career working in environmental education.

After relocating to Southern California with her family, Paige was inspired to create the kind of outdoor science classroom she would want her own daughter to experience—a place where children and families can explore together, make discoveries, and develop a lasting connection with nature.
